I went through this twice recently...Make them as comfortable as possible...ie: blanket, bed, indoors...as hard as this may seem sometimes putting them down is the best solution...I had to do this and it was one of the toughest designs I had to make but I wanted to have good memories about how my dogs was vs. only remembering he was sick and crying and in pain....Best of luck on whatever you decide to do, it's definitely not an easy decision...and not any easier made by others...

Maybe if you call the vet and explain your situation to him he could help you out at a discount price or even for free. Or maybe your local Humane Society could help you out by putting your dog down for you. He needs to be put out of his misery. It's not his fault that you can't afford a vet and he shouldn't have to suffer for it.

Feed him antifreeze. It tastes sweet to the animal, but causes it to go into a coma. It is painless.
