My Rat Terrier is about 7 months old. He had thrown up 4 times yesterday and he is not as outgiong today as he usually is. I think he is sick, but I am not sure why. I would like to get some serious answers on what MIGHT be wrong with him to see if it is really serious before I take him to the vet and spend an obscene amount of money for the vet to tell me it is nothing to worry about. Any help would be great!! Thanks.

If he also has soft stoool, get him to a vet immediately! My puppy had the same issue and he had a parasite!! It's treatable. Check your yellow pages for a "clinic" type vet. They are out there and don't cost as much.

I think you should definately have someone look at him, even if it is someone at a pet store. He is very young, and his immune system isn't fully developed. You can let it go for a few days, and keep and eye on him, he may get over it himself, but just throwing up doesn't really give any clues to what could be wrong with him. Did u switch foods? Maybe he needs to adjust, or he is just under the weather. If it persists i would take him to the vet.

my dog started off the same way and quickly got worse. the vomit was dark brown, he had no entergy. i brought him to the vet, where later he died from poisoning(the vet determined it was anti-freeze) don't take any chances, take him to the vet

This is kinda gross but inspect the vomit. My dog has gotten sick from eating wood and glass before. She throws it up , eats her vomit and throws up later. Try to keep your dog away from its vomit and clean the area.
