NEVER use flea collars they have killed many cats and dogs over the past years it is well known they are not safe!!!
wash him by pouring water gently over him.. dont submerse cats into deep water this really freaks them out, use proper pet shampoo

if he has fleas use a flea comb to remove them

better pet products are NOT sold at grocery stores or wal marts and are only sold at pet supply stores

Most cats do not enjoy being wet. I have always bathed my cats, however, and had few problems - some even loved it. However, I always started when they were kittens (at about ten weeks old) so that they became used to it. Your cat is probably not going to react well. If you must wash him, you can hold him so as to lessen the possibility of him hurting you or himself. Find the upper joint on his front legs that resembles an elbow. Hold both legs with one hand just above this joint firmly but GENTLY! The way to do this is to come up from underneath, place your pointer and second fingers between the legs (fingers should be pointing towards the cat's head), thumb on one side, pinky and ring finger on the other side. Also, try this out a few times BEFORE the bath to make sure you have it right. This is how vets control cats when flea dipping and so on. Be sure to talk to him in a soothing voice, and dry him thouroughly. You might also give him a treat afterwards.

you can wash cats, but they usually don't like it very much. Take your cat to a local groomer or your vet and ask for a flea bath. Also, as for Frontline. This keeps fleas off for 30 days.
