one of our bala fish is sick. he has been dying and sustained injuries from another fish trying to eat him. all the manuals say in such a case it is best to destroy the fish. how do i do this humanely and quickly?
we're looking for something quicker and more humane than flushing. He's not dead yet and he is suffering.
oh yeah we need the fish intact. petsmart will give us a new one.

It's difficult to humanely kill a fish. You could bonk it on the head... but that seems very violent. Same for cutting the head off. Flushing just keeps you from seeing it suffer.
Poor fish!

If I was the fish I'd go for the gulliotine treatment... fast & efficient.

say a few words, open toilet, throw in and let him 'swim' to freedom, my condolences on the loss
