hour.Should I take her to the vet? There is a possibility my dog has eaten some grapes. She weighs 9lbs. I don't know how many, if any, only a few. She was vomitting some time after 10:30pm until 12:45 pm. She has not vomitted since and it is now 1:45. I did not see any grapes or recognizable material in the vomit. She also had some diarrhea. If she did eat them, it was sometime around 6:00. She appears to be acting normally now. Should I take her to the ER?

no, if that much time has passed, then you're in the clear. generally, if your dog was still ill, it woulf be sluggish and sort of "out of it". since your dog used the bathroom and vomited, it seems he got most of it out of his system. since the grapes are toxic, the vet will either give your pup an IV to dilute the amount of toxins to a managable level for your dog, or some pills that can do the same. hope this helps!

I own minature daschunds. My 2nd dog is really small and finacky eater. I have to have her on a controlled diet as many types of foods make her throw up. Her stomach simply cannot handle it. She has a delicate stomach. For instance my dog cannot have any meat that I have seasoned...it has to be plain meat. As for the vomiting and the diarreah it is not an emergency situation if it goes away. Only take to the ER if the problem persists for longer than normal--all day or more than 1 day.

If she is acting fine now there is no reason to take her to the vet.

Since grapes are toxic to dogs, keep a close eye on her. Make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Check your gums to make sure they are still pink. Instead of paying a hefty emergency vet bill call the animal poison hotline... 888-232-8870.

Normally, I would always tell someone to go to the vet but if she is acting okay now I believe you are okay. Sugar is bad for dogs and can give them diarrhea and upset stomach. My dog eats green grapes but not a lot...he really likes them and they never make him sick. Maybe, because she is small and possibly didn't chew them very well she became more ill. Good luck! I think your baby is going to be just fine.

Since grapes cause kidney problems,I would take my dog to the vet, just to be safe. The longer you waite, the more damage could be done.It may be your dog is just fine, and don't need to see the Vet,but just in case she isn't I would take her to see him.I allways figure it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to my dog.
