know her..why? You can read about my sick cat if you click on my avatar. I asked the question yesterday. Every time the sick one tries to lay with the healthy one, she hisses. She sniffs her like she doesn't know her. This only started yesterday after we got home from the vet. She was fine with her before we went to the vet. It's almost like she knows something is wrong, but i dont know why she would be hissing... here is a link to more info on my sick kitty ![]() http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuLq1BmStkX12C0.3flz2absy6IX?qid=100605 0410350 She is not going to get better!! Read more info...

it's probably instinct, the other cat is protecting itself from catching the bug, I'm sure it doesnt realize thats what its doing either. just give the sick one lots of love and they'll make up after a month or two after its better

Cats know when the other is sick. As long as your kitty is getting better..that will stop. If not, it will continue.

I'm so sorry to hear she is unable to get better. The other cat may just know something is wrong, and does not know how to handle it. Just love them both and enjoy every moment God grants you with them.

it's because of the vet smells. give them time to re adjust and they'll both be just fine. hope your kitty feels better soon.

She is hissing at the other cat because the other cat literally does smell different. The scent a cat puts off when it is sick is different, especially if something is really wrong. Assuming the cat is going to get better, this will go away when the cat is healthy again. It could also be lingering smells from the vet. Take a dryer sheet and run it over the cat. It will take away the smells from the vet.

All animals know when one is weaker or sick and will attack, try to keep them apart (not easy I know)Have you taken your poorly kitty to the vet, it sounds to me like something is very wrong and needs to be sorted out ASAP.
