Okay, and I do not mean this in a harmful or disrespectful way. I would just like to bring up a topic that I see often and I would like to know if anyone is noticing this too. Please, there is no need for mean responses and, I am simply interested.

Anyways, on Yahoo! Answers, I am beginning to notice that people have many questions about their animals that are far too serious and need a veterinarian's attention soon. I have read and answered questions that have animals that are in serious trouble. Some animals have life or death injuries, risky symptoms, and other various problems. I just feel like it would be more necessary if the owner went straight to the vet instead of turning on their computer, logging on, posting the question, and waiting for replies. I know that some people can't afford vet care, and I understand that. That isn't my concern as much as the people that can afford it, but choose to turn to the computer first. Has anyone noticed this? Thanks for your input!
Even if you think about it this way, some of the descriptions of an animal in trouble that I've read are dangerous and need a vet's attention fast. After some of the things I've read, if those animals were humans, they would have been rushed to the emergency room a while back. I understand that sometimes an animals problem can be healed without a vet's care, but sometimes I think it's better for the animal if they go straight to a vet. Because in the end, most of the time, the vet will be able to help you more than some online answers over a description. A vet can run tests, X-rays, and other tests. Thanks for your input everyone, it comforts me to know that I'm not the only one with this concern.

I have seen this too and it really concerns me. In my opinion it seems that it is usually kids posting the "Help my pet is dying" questions, you can tell from the way they are written and the awful text speak! I think the intelligent, adult people who can afford the bills are not the usual culprits for these sort of questions. Why anyone would prefer to log onto the net when their pet has just been run over etc instead of going to the vet is beyond me! On the question of vet care it is my opinion that if you can't afford to treat your pet should it become ill, then you should not get one in the first place.

However sometimes people panic and just don't know who to turn to, so even if us telling them to go to the vet helps to save a life or provides reassurance then it must be a good thing.
