| just nuts? He never did before!? 9 y.o. cat decided, all of a sudden, peeing under the desk (on carpet) is fun! Now we put a smaller, additional litter box, but it's in the living room and I really don't like that! |

| Have you been changing brands of cat litter? They don't like that unless all of a sudden they don't like the strong scent of litter, so try unscented. Since the cat is 9 and never did it before it is more than likely a medical problem, you should take him to the vet to make sure there is no infection, especially in the urinary, those things are deadly and so painful. Steam clean the carpet and use some vinegar on it as well then wash again with carpet cleaner to rid the smell, then after it dries, put something under there so he won't be able to go there. Don't beat him, he probable don't know what he is doing or just plain cant help it because something is wrong and that may be his way of telling you. Good Luck. |
