| If a woman is in the United States on a legal visitor visa and she needs to give birth, are hospitals obligated to take care of her or not? What would the procedures be? If yes, how long do they take care of the mother before/during birth and after? Or is it just a matter of having some kind of health insurance? Also, I have previously heard that mothers of babies born in the United States (citizens by birth that is) are allowed to legally stay in this country. Is that true and what is this based on in the legislature? Same questions for a woman in the US on an expired visitor visa. Would she be allowed/denied hospital stay for birth, etc.? Thanks a lot. Any extra information about this type of situation would be helpful. |
