I was listening to the radio the other day and they said that there is a huge percentage of minors getting plastic surgery. Especially breast implants. Why would any parent do that to their daughter? Why would they want guys checking out their daughter's chest. There's too much of a ****** tie to breast implants for a parent to think that its a good idea.I think it's weird.Don't get me wrong. I've been unhappy with mine and have known I wanted implants since I was 13.So I'm not against plastic surgery.

I think that plastic surgery can be good for people who have horrible disfigurements, burns and so forth. However, I fear that many cosmetic surgeries these days are done because the people who have the surgeries have low self-esteem and think that surgery is going to make them feel better about themselves. The surgery might make you feel better temporarily but I'm not convinced that it's a long-term way to make yourself feel happier.

I fear that teenagers who get implants might think that they need approval from others to feel happy, for example, but I suspect that many of them still don't feel happy even after they get that approval. They might ultimately regret the decision because they ended up changing themselves so they no longer know who they are.

I think that most people who want to get plastic surgery should instead work on the issues that are making them unhappy with themselves.

I think it is premature at the very least for anyone not fully developed--physically, mentally and emotionally. For one thing, changes in bodies during puberty are pretty dramatic. My wife loves figure skating, and is constantly pointing out why young girls are so successful at it--their bodies haven't fully developed to the point where some of the moves would be more difficult. It's possible that a body of a fifteen-year-old will change dramatically over the next 5 to 10 years. And then there's the coping with that kind of a change, even if it's perceived as good. I guess I get why women want plastic surgery, although it saddens me to see it happening. But the thought of teenagers going under the knife for that sort of elective surgery makes me wonder how it can be condoned by any physician.

All I can say is this think about how hard it was groing up. It was difficult for most of us. Now think about a minor having a body feature that brings neggitive attention, and how diffucult it would be for that one minor. The teasing and tourmenting could literly be harmful, and resulting in major mental disorders. And the worst case sinario suicide which is pretty high in the states. So no I am not against it.

neither am I against it, but like alcohol, cosmetic surgery of any kind can become addictive... and decisions like these should come from a more mature mind, and the legal mature age to make decicions should be followed and thus I agree that minors should not get such plastic surgeries...
