I am 23 years old and currently on college. I am rather poor and rely on loans to get through school. I had health insurance last year, but could not afford to keep it this year. I had to go to the hospital last week and they ran all sorts of test that should run close to $1500. Does anyone know of anyway to get financial help for this? I am young and would hate to ruin my credit so soon, and really cannot afford to pay for all of it.

Some schools offer medical assistance, wouldn't hurt to talk to someone at your school, maybe a teacher or career councelor to get you in contact with the right channels.

All hospitals are non profit meaning they have to treat you no matter your financial income. You should be able to call the hospital that you went to and talk to a financial counseler, and explain to them your hardship and moe than likely they will give you assistance and write the bill off. I had over $20,000 in bills and that is what I did and they wrote the entire bill off so I paid nothing. Try that and I hope that it works out for you.
