My doctor was shut down by the board. Patients have been unable to get records. The board says that they have no knowledge of the records location. Many other people are being affected even worse than me. The board has said they cant even help me, they cant even find a doctor. I am having a difficult time finding another doctor. I have my medical records, but they are only as recent as Oct. 2005- this is the time when I changed to the doctor that just got shut down. Because the doctors that I have contacted want records that are 30-60 days old, I am having a hard time finding a doctor that will take me.

What do you mean your doctor was shut down by the board? You mean your doctor had his license revoked? It's true that the Board has no responsibility to find your medical records, help you find a new doctor, etc. They are just an administrative body responsible for making sure that medicine is practiced ethically and competently. I'd just call around and get a new doctor on your own. Just give them whatever information you can. As an alternative to a doctor, you could contact local clinics and have an initial visit with a nurse practitioner. Sometimes they are more concerned and empathetic than many doctors. If the pain is really severe then go to your local hospital's emergency room and see if a doctor there can help. They might be able to diagnose your condition and prescribe something right away, and might also be able to provide a referral to a new doctor.

If you're not an addict and don't want to become one, stop going to pain management centers. They're nothing but legal drug pushers.
