just wondering -- if an otherwise healthy person wants to lose weight and start eating more vegetables and fruits, and exercising, what is the logic behind going to a doctor? What questions are there to ask and what can a doctor do? I'm talking about losing 30 lbs at the most so it's not much. If a person has no medical problems -- what do you say when you make the appointment? it just seems a bit silly to make an appointment to ask about losing weight if you already know what you're supposed to do.

The reason I ask is that I don't really have a doctor as I've not needed one in a long time, so it seems a bit silly to find one just for that purpose.

It's always good to get second opinion because without knowing the danger u could be in. A doctor could tell u if u really need to lose weight or at least stay at the weight u need to stay at.

Seeing a doctor is for people who are seriously obese, like 50lbs. or more overweight. They see a doctor because they need help losing weight. And they need to lose the weight because their health is being affected, not for vanity's sake.

It's time for professional opinions if you have tried everything but unsuccessful. In your case, I don't think you need a doctor since you are not seriously obese. Perhaps you can try a trainer first and see how it goes.
