You've got to be kidding me. If you don't know how to cook it, why are you doing it. 300 people will take more than 1 large pot my friend.

you will need more than one pot. make sure your pot is large and that you don't stuff it with a bunch of pasta, because then it will release too much starch and get all mushy. You may need to cook a couple of batches. Mix in some oil, olive oil is what I use, with the pasta once it is cooked, so that it doesn't get stuck together.

You are going to need several pots!! Best to cook it all at the same time and it to be ready right before you serve it.

if you want to keep it from getting mushy you will have to use several stock pots as you will need at least 75 pounds of pasta for 300 people (1 lb feeds about 4) and you have to have at least 4 quarts of water per pound of pasta. If you are going to cook it before hand and warm it up make sure to under cook it just a bit. I would also suggest using one of the new whole wheat or whole grain pastas as they don't get mushy as easily as regular pasta does. You also need about 1 1/2 cups of sauce per serving (2 cups if it is meat sauce). Good Luck.

You need to use several pots. One pot would present too many problems. If you could, you should try to get several other people to make the spagetti, too ... this would help make this a much easier chore for you - by reducing everything.

You can cook the spaghetti noodles ahead of time rinse in cold water and store in zip loc bags in fridge. Make your sauce, meat sauce would be easier than meatballs. Heat everything up before serving you won't be able to serve everyone all at once, but in batches.
