| It totally depends on where in California. In the San Francisco Bay Area right now for example the median price for a detached home is over $800K which is simply ridiculous. The majority of people here have to rent. But if you do want to buy, there is a good book from Nolo Press called How to Buy a House in California. Good luck! |

| San Diego is expensive too. My house is currently for sale $549,000. 1160 sf. 6000sf lot. 3 miles from Ocean. Clairemont suburb. 92117 zip. Rents here are about $1750 mo. 3 bed, 1-2 bath, garage. All depends on income and desired location. A single person working at Wal Mart would not probably qualify. Angelina Jolie could buy the neighborhood. Buying brokers could really help you in your quest here. Contact a few of them...they love to talk. |
