problems lie in power and politics?
I appreciate all the response I have had with all of the issues about religion and politics. They have been both informative and debatiable. I know they have sparked some anger and confussion but in a way it has all proven a point, that really, the most of us will not change or conform. That is not what I'm trying to relay. I am so glad that I live in a country where we have freedom of speech and freedom of religion and I feel real blessed about that. I know that it is very easy to type words on this site that we may not normally say to each other if we only knew a little more. The world would be a much better place if we could all open our minds and try to create peace among ourself. I am very honored to know that I believe in a forgiving God and a God of peace. My Bible teaches that in the last days there will be wars and rumors of wars and floods and famines and....(Rev.).. The way will not be easy but for the most part I believe that we all who worship, worship the same God.(cont)

I agree, religions I know are all about peace and love but main problem comes from when people try to use religion in order to gain Power.
You can't pay someone to do a suiside bombing, he must believe that his act is straightly take him to heaven and he will bring peace and love to earth. So fanatic people can have political uses above imaginations.
All these violence you see is political not a religious, they only have a religious name.

Absolutely. The best and must have politician's skills nowadays are lying and betraying his/her people.

problems stem mainly from poor leadership. I do not mean pres. Bush he is doing his best. The lib/dems are the main problem.

No, our problems lie in those who misuse their power in politics. Are problems lie in ignorant minds and unjustified thoughts and actions. Our problems lie in the hands of those who feel they have the right to judge others solely on their outer appearance, their cultural and religious differences and their sexuallity. Our problems lie in the lack of acceptance and understanding. Since we are all different(and rightly so) we will always have problems as long as there are ignorant people living on this earth and we will all always have that. Ignorance breeds ignorance.

On the surface yes you would. Our real problems lie deeper than that though. It is a little thing called pride, original sin, human nature. Take your pick. The same spark that makes man most like God also makes him most resistant to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Also I don't think our problems are with power and politics but the abuse of same.
