The new X-Men movie raises some interesting questions, but the greatest of these boils down to this,"Is the unique individual the person that makes Mankind the highest life form on this planet,or is it the ability of humans to act 'en mass',to perform as a uniform team, that has allowed this?Is it the Warrior that wins the battle for survival,or the Soldier?Would you rather be a Solo,or a Team Player, and why?I'm looking for more than one word answers...in short,is it better to fit in,or to buck the system?

well...

A society requires that its participants have a common goal, and they participate in it for the benefit of the whole. Each participant aid society in his own way, if not we would have to be shoemakers, tailors, homebuilders, cooks, farmers, writers, singers, etc. The fact that we choose to do different jobs does not mean we are not conforming to the ideals of society. It is a fallacy to believe that we can survive without society, because we have been groomed to be a part of it from the moment that we are born. We could have ideas that are contrary to society's, it's true. And we could be seen to be outcasts because we do not conform to other's expectations. It is from this fringe that our great inventions, artists, and innovators live. They buck the accepted beliefs, but they still use money, speak the same languages, use the same modes of transportation, eat the same foods. But is it better to live on the fringes? I would say that it is absolutely the best place to be, if you can manage it.
