We are thinking of going to Chicago over Memorial and we will probably use priceline for a hotel but it looks like the more upscale hotels don't offer breakfast (continental or otherwise)

Even though they are 4 stars, naturually you would think that caterer to your needs and include the cost of breakfast, but I dont think that the cost of breakfast is included. I would that a 4 star hotel would think that if you afford the cost of the hotel, you can afford breakfast. They just want more money.

Complimentary breakfasts are more typically offered by chains catering to families. I think the more expensive, fancier hotels don't tend to offer a complimentary breakfast, in my experience, anyway.

Of course they offer breakfast, if its not included in the rate it would be additional - Normally $15 per person continental and $20 per person full buffet breakfast. They're standard breakfast prices most places you go.
Also the upscale hotels have an executive club or club lounge where you pay an upgrade fee and you get all day access to non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, newspapers and magazines, daily hot breakfast and evening canapes and drinks. Definately worth the extra money!
