I saw the ad of iphone, it starts from 9.99 bucks a month and whenever you add a friend you reduce your monthly payment by 1 buck, Rogers home phone charges me about 40 bucks a month.

what I mean there is a great difference in prices, there gotta be a reason for that besides that iphone uses your internet connection to make phone calls, and why many people still uses Rogers??

I've never heard of i-phone either, but with any kind of VOIP service, you get what you pay for. Voice-over-Internet is notorious for very poor voice quality, frequently dropped calls, complete loss of service in a power outage and no 911 support (when you call 911 you get a company operator that has no clue where you are). Rogers home phone features a dedicated home phone network that does not rely on the public Internet, crystal clear voice quality, continuous service even in a power failure and instant location info when using 911. Not to mention unlimited long distance in North America for under $20, discounts when combined with other Rogers products etc. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
