...using the internet? i know its scary to think of computers running our lives but lets face it is george bush or condelizard rice really the way? if we all just woke up and voted locally nationally and internationally every day we could have a form of true democracy, especailly if we concentrated on the local level and executed the ones who try to fraudulate the new system. i'm not that into computers but i am deeply, seriously afraid where this country is headed! yes i vote everytime

This is exactly what the Founders feared. The day that democracy would come to the fore and rule the day. Democracy, as the Founders knew leads inevitably to dictatorship. In is the proactive citizen who is the final bulwark. This doesn’t mean that people can’t be concerned, I am for one. However, that means people should get involved with the system, not only voting, but working to understand how government actually works, what the issues are (from all sides), work by lobbying and petitioning and getting coalitions together to gain your goals. And oh yes, vote. Computers. I’ve worked with computers from the early 1960s. As much as I understand the Founders’ fears of Democracy, I fear the control through computers much more. The system is, and should be, a system of people and people contact and people deciding.

Good luck getting people to vote every day, let alone every 4 years.
