I have several hundred mpeg files that were erroneously left in locked (in use) state. They cannot be deleted, played, or altered.

Does anyone know how to change the locked flag or is there a utility program that can do this?

I have been trying to solve this for six months and so far I haven't been able to find anyone that knows how...

I have tried EMCO Unlock IT, but it only works if a process has a file locked and does not work with files that have been left in a "locked state".

I also tried deleting the InProcServer32 folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/
SOFTWARE/
Classes/CLSID/
{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE68...

but this had no effect (possibly because the locked files are mpg files, not avi).

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks.
