|  Many people have pointed out that the Neo-Cons advocate policies that create a large deficit for the Federal government. These policies are seen as being at odds with the long time conservative crusade for balanced budgets. The common answer for this is the "Starve the Beast" strategy advocated by Grover Noruist president of Americans for Tax Reform. This is a strategy of using large budget deficits to force cuts in the size of the government programs. This would help create the smaller government which conservative ideology advocates. Currently most evidence points to this strategy as being counterproductive and harmful to the economy. |
