I am considering to buy a car (2004 tl) which was sold in 2006 as Acura certified car by the dealer to somebody. Now this somebody did not drive the vehicle and travelled only 700 miles in almost 2 years, before selling it at an Auction. Now I am thinking of buying the car from the wholesale guy who bought it from the auction.

What are your thoughts for the car not being driven much. Perhaps the financial company which gave the loan to the second owner repossessed it back - would it show up in carfax then?
Carfax is clean and shows 16000 miles in 2005, 1yr at dealer (till 2006) then 16700 miles in 2008 and no damage.

a car fax report is pretty accurate on most cars today,but you have to remember a report will only have on it what was entered to be put on it,not all incidents with cars is reported,that one sounds like a real good deal but those are the ones to be cautious on,drive the car and see if there's any hesitation in it or any thing that would maybe cause it not to shift right or not run right,all you can do on one like that is be very cautious,and sometimes that wont even protect you but it helps,there's lots of hurricane Katrina cars been popping up in my area all the sudden,so be really careful,ask a lot of questions sellers like to answer questions if they have nothing to hide,if they choose to not answer a question it wont always mean that their not being truthful ,but maybe that their not sure,it sounds like you might have found one of those deals we all hope to find once in a while,just drive it and have it checked and use your own judgment on it,if it don't feel right ,then their may be a good reason for the gut feeling we all get sometimes,good luck with it i hope it turns out to be what you want.
