Christ's teachings came directly from him (Gospels)aswell as other people like Paul (Whom Jesus spoke to after he went to take his place at the right hand side of God.

So I would have to say no. But you also have to treat things not written in the Bible with a lot of sceptisism.

The Bible should be and i do agree w/ u i may just b 14 but who cares i'm just as important as others.
Since we believe in God we should use the whole Bible not just what Christ taught Becuase it is God who we believe in not just His son. There where miricals in the OT just as there where in the NT. In the OT in Ezekiel 37 you will find a story of God brings bones back to human flesh!
So maybe this awnser is what your wanting.

Not if you ever want to find out who the real Jesus was. The political spin given in the NT is typical of any party manifesto.

Of course he never touched Maria Magdalena or inhaled. Where have we heard that before?

if you close your mind to other possibilities, versions, interpretations and logic, you only deny yourself the full study of what is available.

It's convenient for some relgions to do just that. They know that blindly following a certain faith/belief means you are more likely to vote for certain politicians, you are more likely to support certain legislation and denounce others, and that you are more likely to buy certain products. With blind faith they have you just where they want you. You're a pawn in their game.

If you dont wanna be a puppet on a string, read everything you can get your hands on. Read and analyse the writings that didnt make it into the Bible, read other interpretations, read historical accounts, follow the evidence...

If you truly believe that the NT is the "true" word of God, what have you got to lose or fear? Surely your faith is more secure than that, no? Or is it?

Methinks you dont want to read cos you're afraid of what you might find out.

Remember: that which does not kill us only makes us stronger.

No. I highly disagree.

If you look, we know only a few things that Christ taught. Lemme give you a hint: Jesus only appears in the gospel, and a short bit in Acts. The entire rest of the new testament is the teachings of Jesus' apostles, which are generally accepted as Christian Doctrine.

A perfect church would be built solely off of Jesus' teachings, but we simply don't know enough of what he taught in this day and age to face many of the situations that these days call for.

Christ's words should be what we look to first, above the writings of Paul and others. However, we shouldn't forget the roots of Christianity. By that, I mean that there is much to learn from the Old Testament.
