| do it yourself if you have a VERY artful hand. Get the correct black (match the paint code on your car) shake shake shake! Wipe the crack with acetone cleaner or MEK to get all wax and crud off the surface. Fill the crack with an even amount of paint through the entire stroke. The quantity of paint must "Blob" over and fill the crack entirely. Apply at ~78 degrees both paint and car. Use lights if you have to. Give it 8 hours to dry. DONT TOUCH IT for at least a week. you will notice that after a week, that blob has "sucked in" to the crack. with 2500 wet or dry, wet the paper and lightly go over the scratch across from it to sand away ther high spots that are not part of the crack. Is the crack completely filled? Usually not. It usually take two applications. repeat the process. HEY! you HAVE to let the paint totally cure for a week. If you dont, dont even bother doing it. after the second time, presto! when you sand away the high spots where the crack was, you will notice that there is no more crack! (scratch) |
