Im starting to think I may have some sort of mental condition. I find myself counting many objects around me throught the day, mainly stairs in my school or steps i take on my walk home, also desks, window pains and anything else I notice that seems like it can be recorded or counted. I also find new enviorments and people stressing, especially if it is fast paced. Are these conditions that I should work on or is it just me being perseptive? its hard to tell if it affects my life. I do normal things but while doing them I often think of things in extreme detail, such as object origin, material, approximate time of production and many other aspects. for example today i noticed that my schools computer lab has 40 computers, in 8 rows containing 5 computers each, i also noticed that the colour of the chairs differed, i made this graph in my head where r represents a red chair and o represents a orange chair. o o r o r r r r o r o o r r r r o r r o r r r r o o o r o o o o o o o my question is is this really normal to percieve things in these diffrent ways. I also notice when anything in my room is gone or misplaced, i also notice this in my class room, where i pick the same desk everyday because im comfortable with it while other people move around. is this a wierd trait that I should be treated for?

Sounds like OCD. Obsessive-compulsive disorder. Not a real issue unless it controls your life. They say most people have a touch of it. Many people wash their hands often, but when it reaches fifty times a day that behavior raises questions. Try to break the habit by doing something else. Stop at a store or do something different.

Everyone thinks this at least once in their life! Sometimes more than once (me), but it is totally normal. If the stress from new environments or new people is really getting to you, talk to your counsler, that is what they are paid for. It can't hurt to talk to a professional. Because there is actually a condition called agoraphobia where people become so afraid of being out in public it affects their life. I'm NOT saying this is what you have, but like i said, if the stress is a lot on you, talk to someone. Good luck!

you may have OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder, but it's hard to tell. try talking to a professional about it. i have OCD, ADHD and Depression............ so try some online quizzes, talk to ppl close to u about it and then decide for yourself whether u ant to talk to a professional or not. that's the best advice i can give ya.
