Is it possible to remove "paid" negative items from my credit report?

| I have 3 items on my credit report from '04 that were past due or collection accounts that I paid. Unfortunately, all 3 items remain because I was young and foolish - didn't know to negotiate. Do I have options other than waiting the course of time? Should I pay someone to act in my place to try to remove these items, or is there something that I can do on my own? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
