This is what is listed for a bonus for an online sports book:

20% Cash Bonus on all initial deposits except for Direct Cash
- 3x Rollover, bonus cap: $200.
10% free-play football future bet
-3x rollover on winnnings
10% free-play Horse wager
-3x rollover on winnnings

Can someone put in real lamen terms what it means?
(for example, explain what free play vs. cash is, what 3x rollover means, etc.)

Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would stay away from online betting. It's too dangerous! Don't do it!

I, personally do not trust online gaming operations. There is no regulation or legal recourse.

That said,

1) The cash bonus is "bonus money" added to your account in addition to your money. It encourages people to make a bigger deposit, therefore they bet more. You’re also "lending" the "bookie" your money, interest free.

2) The free play is just a little "plus" to make one "bookie' look like a better place to bet. Like a loss leader in the retail business.

3) The "rollover" is probably a "bonus" to get you to replay your winnings. A 1 bet type of promotion, again a loss leader to get "you in the door".

FYI: keep low balances in these operations, use a separate low limit credit card, and get your winnings sent/credited to the card, or sent to you. If you are not able to get your money out as they promised. That is your hint to get out !
