This is a pretty loaded question. Regardless of what you teach, people can contract HIV. In fact, the numbers in Africa are increasing among married women, who get it from their husbands who sleep with other women. The same is common in India, where husband truck drivers contract HIV from prostitutes while waiting at truck stops (for days at a time in some places, like on the Bangladeshi border).

Condoms are the most effective way (other than not having sex at all--whether single or married) to deal with HIV. When you teach people to practice safe sex, you're gearing them with an important safety measure they'll carry with them for the rest of their lives. Another way to fight AIDS is to try to deal with the devastating poverty that leads to the horrendous economic situations causing women to turn to prostitution, and desparation that causes the population to engage in risky behavior (as is the case in Russia, where HIV increased dramatically after the fall of communism and the collapse of the Soviet economy--widespread desperation led to a huge increase in recreational drug use--along with the unsafe practice of sharing needles).

The problem is alot more complicated than premarital sex, which, if practiced safely (condom, birth control, and STD testing), most often does not result in HIV, pregnancy, or other STDs for that matter.

both will help Africa. but also i guess that africa needs: education( ****** and academic), money and much more efficient use of its natural resouces.

in Africa many people are not aware of what is AIDS - education will certainly help.
condoms are not easily available in most places in Africa.
AIDS goes also by drug addicts sharing their syringe.
