I have ten years tech experience developing software, firmware, and hardware. I have spent 7 years dealing with customers in the field. I have an MCSE and I am completing my Bachelor of business Administration at the end of this month.

The specific area you choose isn't as important as what interests you. Pick something where you have passion that you can bring to your job every day. Know your talents/strengths and pick a job that takes advantage of them. To this end, I highly recommend reading the book "Now Discover Your Strengths" (see the link in "Sources" below)

For some comparison, here are some career switches for people I have known moving out of high-tech into other careers:
* QA -> project manager at a non-profit
* Product Manager -> outdoor guide
* Program Manager -> actress/performer
* Developer -> live theatre producer
