...advertising dollars? The hits are specific to a targeted market, not the general public. So those who visit this site will be interested in visiting my establishment. The size is 120 x 120 and the cost is $225 a month. Would this be wise advertising investment?

10,000 unique VISITS (IPs) a day is a good number. HITS are not the count to look for. If the site is getting 10K visits that is worth the investigation. You could ask dozens of more questions: where does the traffic come from, how long do visits last, what are the number of click throughs, etc. Like all advertising, we want a crystal ball to predict the productivity, unfortunately even a tried a true method that produces for hundreds of companies may not work for yours. I always use a three month rule of thumb; if I try an ad for three months and it doesn't produce above break even it gets pulled.

The absolute best way to spend ad dollars on the internet is buying text link ads. See this site: www.textlinkbrokers.com Anything else is a tremendous waste of time and money.
