| We have stayed in a number of Colorado B&Bs, and if you have the money, or could catch a special, I highly recommend the Cliff House in Manitou Springs. It's a great property, the staff is very nice, and the food is supurb. I have stayed in each of their room classes, and recommend the Jr suites for value, or one of the round tower rooms if you can swing it. A service charge is included in the basic room price, so there is no awkwardness about tipping the valet or even for room service. (And the chocolate souffle is fantastic!) Manitou is at the foot of Pikes Peak, and maybe an hour to Cripple Creek, which is a nice drive (I've seen bighorn sheep just feet from the road) even if you don't stop to gamble, and less than 2 hrs from Breckenridge. |
