| I'm a waitress and lots of times, it doesn't matter who the table's server is or how the service is. They just leave 1.00 for all 6 of them, etc... People, 15 to 20% is fair. Well, if people don't have enough money to tip, then they obviously don't have enough money to eat out. Those people should go to the grocery store and cook at home. Waitstaff usually make between 2.15 and 3.00 an hour. Most cases are closer to the 2.15. Tips ARE counted by the employer. Both the employer and the waitstaff MUST pay taxes on tips, as they are counted as part of the wage earned. NOT extra money. Sorry to hear about Austrailia! |
