| all of my life i have known that the appropriate gratuity is 15% and i have waitressed for 12 years and know that 20% is actually more accurate, yet people still seem to tip 10% and tell you that you are the best waitress they have ever had. what gives? |

| actually, 10% is a bit old fashioned. Current is to double tax at least and acceptable is 15% of the bill. |
