I have been using Windows all my life, and now want to try linux. I have a distro already installed on my laptop. I'm using DSL (Damn Small Linux) and I am looking for a good website to teach me the basics of Linux

Linux is all about the shell. Once you learn the basic commands, you are up and running along.

If you are brand new, try Ubuntu Linux; it's meant for newer users, but also has power behind it.

Once you get better at Linux, take a stab at compiling Gentoo; this is the distribution I use, and I love it.

Ubuntu installs clean like a windows installer, you don't really need much linux knowledge as far as I know.

Edit: Oops, didn't read the question right.

Try http://www.linuxlots.com/~jam/guide4.html for a general guide, and http://www.justlinux.com/nhf/Command_Reference for a command reference.
