do a defrag first, you should do these on a regular basis .windows xp--go to start --all programs--accessories----system tools--defragmenter this will bring all your split files into one allowing your computer to run faster.

If you're not that experienced, i cannot recommend this, but, go to start, run and type "msconfig" w/o the quotation marks, turn off anything in the startup tab that you do not want to come up. This will solve all of that crap from loading when you first start your PC, I also recommend CCleaner, it is faster than the Windows cleanup program.

Try multiple spyware removal tools such as ad-aware and spybot search-and-destroy. If that doesn't work, you could always run anti-virus. Change settings on your desktop for best performance. And, if all else fails, upgrade your RAM.
