with the file? it won't let me delete the file manually or through the virus protecter, i tried to quarintine it and it says the program file is used or something like that
my cousin is using shaw secure and it says the virus is there but has relocted somewhere else or changed file names. so it can't delete or quarintine it.

if you're using windows, enter safe mode, (press F8 while the computer is starting up) and then try to delete it. are you absolutely certain that this is the virus file? chances are good you're wrong and it will just get replaced by the real one or you just might delete the wrong file. i'd say use a professional virus scanner instead (if you don't already have one, go get one then install in safe mode)

Also, check on sites like www.symantec.com , they may have more detailed instructions for removal, deleting from registry etc.

Delete it in safe mode by rebooting your computer and repeatedly hitting on f8 and go into safe mode.

a system restore is a good idea, you can take your computer back to how it was before it got infected.
***Warning*** any files and/or programs downloaded or saved after the infection took place will also be removed by the system restore.
go to the acessories folder in all programs on the start menu. then System tools. System restore should be at the bottom of this list.

once you have spyware/malware or anything like that, the best option is to erase the hard drive and install windows again, no program will ever remove the shit from your computer... make sure you backup your files...
