A8 car. Do you agree? I was debating with my friend, where I stated that Audi (the company) had to pay the 'movie crew' to feature their car, the Audi A8, in the movie - Transporter 2.

My friend disagreed and thought it should be vise versa - where the 'movie people' paid Audi a lot to use their car (the Audi A8) in the movie.

What do you think?

This is very common in Hollywood, the car company does pay to have their car appear in the movie. Then car dealers give out screening passes for test drives, some even have nights devoted to the movies release and the car that is highlighted.

BMW featured the mini cooper in "The Italian Job" and the Z3 in a James Bond movie and both time the dealership by my house had a big event around a Thursday sneak peek of the movie.

I think the movie people paid Audi to use their image and name. Although it is an Audi, the movie suped it up quite a bit and it showed you have to be that kind of driver.

guesss ur right- the trasporter movie was indeed more about car chases(loved them)- i was wondering why they quit on the bmw from the first movie

Well kinda, Audi spncered the car for the movie so they had to kinda advertise it

Audi would have paid for it no question. I agree its a walking billboard.

I kinda think it's a bit of both but more the 'movie people' paying Audi to use the car as Audi can advertise basically anywhere they want to pay for, and most people don't pay any attention to the cars in the movies as they just watch it for the enjoyment of it. So if the movie people wanted a nice car in their movie and they chose the Audi A8 as its pretty nice and then asked Audi if they could use it.
Well, that's my opinion anyway...

I haven't seen it, but I read about Audi being featured. I believe there was an agreement between the companies where Audi paid. Like any other commercial. Sometimes there's cross advertising where they promote each other, in the end though someone usually pays.
