| i'm in the middle of a major project~ replacing the heater core in my 1988 mercury sable. YIKES, it's waaayy more complicated than it should be. ok, i removed the front seat & even managed to remove the entire instrument panel ( i would call it the dashboard). i have the new core. i have the upper evaporator fitting (from accumulator) removed, which took a lot of tugging...now i can't seem to get the lower evaporator fitting apart. of course, it's in an area where i can't grab it very well, but i've been using wood blocks and other longer pieces to get leverage and pry against the bend , but just can't get it apart. i have soaked it several times with liquid wrench. the coupling disconnector is engaging the spring. i really need to finish this so i can get the car back together before christmas day~! HELP~ |
