My wife and I looked at a new Fusion yesterday. I haven't had a chance to do any research on this particular car, but it looks good on the showroom floor. We're looking to replace her 6-year-old Taurus, and so far, the Fusion is high on our list.

My experience with Ford has not been very positive, and it took me quite a few cars to figure that out, so I have reasonable experience. There are definitely production issues across the board. If your not a red-blooded patriot, I would recommend strongly going Toyota or Honda.

I would never buy a car that is in the first year of production, Wait untill the 07 comes out Around August that way all the bugs are worked out and you can get a better deal on an 06. I do like the Fusion and its siblings Mercury Milan ,Lincoln Zepher and Mazda Speed

The Fusion is based on Mazda mechanicals. It is getting very good press as a driver's car. The looks are not breaking any new ground, but at least it isn't starting out as an outdated design. I've owned Fords for over 31 years. Currently own an '01 Sport Trac, an '03 Windstar, and an unrestored '66 Ranchero. I am a very satisfied customer. Ford is also the parent company of Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Aston Martin. Pretty good company, if you ask me.
