I've never understood why people will dump huge sums of money into econo boxes that were only designed for commuting.

FWD cars can be made to perform well for the money, but the configuration is best for sporty / enthustiastic driving at most. cars that are serious performers will always be RWD or AWD because of the better weight distribution and more predictable handling at the limits of the performance envelope.

Many of these cars are considered sports sedans because they are powerful, highly-efficient 4-doors. As far as the money goes, imports (for the most part) retain their value better than their american-made competition... what's the better bang for your buck? you decide
