prevention or treatment for cars? I have a '92 Lincoln Mark VII that was kept in storage for a long time but was not spared from the damp weather and salt in the easr coast. I noticed some rusted panels and extensive surface rusting on the underside of the car. I want to know what type of procedure should be done in order to retard or completely eliminate the rusting of the car's different sections.

rust proofing just means spraying the bottom of the vehicle with a rust preventing oil. it's not giong to do anything to the rust that's already formed. best ting would ahve been to sell the car out east and buy a california car iwth no rust on it. if it's jsut on the surface a good paint job might help but you have to be sure to grind out all the old rust.
