| I used to have one of these cars... when it happened to me one of the hoses had a tiny crack/cut. And it was one not visable from the top. Hope this might help. ![]() |

| It could be a number of things...if it is the thermostat, you would be lucky, as that is a really cheap and easy fix. Then there is the water pump...if that goes bad you will normally see water dripping from it. It isn't always noticable as when the engine heats up the radiator fluid evaporates...It could be that the radiator is fouled and the fluid can not circulate. This is not very common, but if you have had the car since 88 and haven't serviced the radiator, then this senario becomes very likely... All of this being said, you have checked the radiator fluid level, right? You don't have a bunch of dead bugs in the grill do you? Your water pump drive belt isn't loose is it? The cooling fan comes on when the engine is hot right?...The only thing left would be that the guage is faulty. Good luck with it, it should be pretty easy to fix with this information (if you are mechanically inclined). |
