I'm 21 and I'll be getting a new car in a week or so. I've been in a few accidents (mostly little fender-benders that we didn't claim on the insurance) but about a month ago I flipped my car. I'm wondering what kind of car will be the cheapest to insure? What kind of coverage should I get? And what insurance companies should I look into?
What kinds of cars are cheapest to insure? Make and model, please?

Mercury is very good, but they are a pain in the A**. Like when one son became old enough to drive, they kept sending me letters demanding to know if he was driving my car without ins. I kept telling them he would not get a license OR a car until his grades improved, but they kept sending the letters threatening to cancel me, so I said fine, I'm cancelling YOU, and changed to 21st C.

I use 21st Century now. Very good rates, but I don't speed, crash, or flip cars.........

If I were before getting insurance take the defensive driving course it takes of 10% off of your insurmace policy. Try Geico depending were you live they got good rates. The cheapest cars to insure are american cars because the cars are easier to repair whenever there is an accident. please get full coverage it maybe more expensive but with your history, it will save you in the long run.

Please make sure to call me when you are driving, you sound a little dangerous....

Well, since you are still young it's going to cost you. The good news is that since none of your fender benders were evr reported to the DMV you still have a good driving record. As for the car flipping I'm pretty sure that was reported. So now you are at pretty high risk factor. If you go in an insure yourself it's going to cost you. See if a parent can insure you under the car insurance. (muti-car discount) That might be a better bet for you. If you are a student with good grades that helps too. As for the car of choice make sure it's not brand new, not listed on the most stolen car list, and doesn't have a bad title. Coverage you need should be at least Standard coverage with at least a 500 deductible. Looking on line is easy to they have sites that will compare prives for you like: www.progressive.com or www.insweb.com A good website that I found the topic, "Which car cost less to insure?" Then visit http://moneycentral.msn.com/marketplace/home.aspx?iMarketID=8 There are many other topics that might help you solve your questions. Goodluck!
