...bushings on a 97 GMC truck? How? If so how does it come off and go back on? I bought a Haynes manual but it doesn't cover the subject. The spring in ? is right under the upper pin. It appears to be a simple coil spring. It is unclear how it attaches to the the door hinges. My best guess is just the recoil force of the spring. How do you compress the bugger to slip it off...if that is what you do and then...more importantly, how do you get it back on?

if it is shaped like a s,then i don't think so.just put a jack under the far end of the door and use it to hold the weight of the door then just replace one set at a time.

Remove the hinge's (door) u must take the load off the spring, your door weight is about 100 to 120 lbs, thats the force on the little spring, be careful if you never done one you could damage the door and you.
