...spain it has spanish registration? i am thinking of buying a car brought from spain to the UK, how do i check that its all above board not stolen no h.p.that sort of stuff

Best thing is to get someone in Spain that would help you. If you don't know anyone there, try an Internet forum where expats living in, say, Tenerife meeet and ask them.
If not, call a "Gestoria" in Tenerife (in Tenerife they are more likely to understand your request in English, you see) and they'll do it for you for a fee.
They have to go with the papers (originals if possible) to the "Direccion de Trafico" in any city and they'll tell them there right away if there is a problem.
