That would depend on which specific class of aircraft carrier you're looking for. Aircraft carriers range in sizes from the smaller WWII versions like the Intrepid (872 feet long), to the supercarriers like the USS Enterprise which is 1,101 feet long.

Either way, I think that information might be classifed for ships which are still in service.

The Discovery Channel had a program on supercarriers and they are supposedly very nimble for something so big. One of the tests they carry out after the ship is built is to make the carrier go in figure eights going full speed. The carrier was tilted at an extreme degree while doing this. The program did not give the top speed or the turn radius. They also make the carrier go in reverse full speed for several miles.

I would guess it would take a 3-4 mile diameter circle.
