| Fed Ex does not have any single engine planes, but there are many companies in the US that fly Cessna Caravans for Fed Ex. The Cessna Caravan is a fixed gear single engine turboprop. The planes are usually painted in Fed Ex colors. To fly for one of these companies you would need a minimum of a Single Engine Airplane, Commercial Pilot License. The company would also want you to have some previous flying experience (at least 1500 hours) before they would hire you. You could gain that experience by getting a flight instructor rating and teaching people to fly. You could tow banners, fly traffic watch, fly powerline or pipeline patrols, and I'm sure there are some more that I haven't thought of. All of them don't pay well, but that's the only way to get experience. So here is what you would need to do: 1.) Get your private pilot license 2.) Get your instrument rating 3.) Get your commercial pilot license 4.) Get your multi engine airplane rating (recommended, but not required) 5.) Get your flight instructor rating if you want to gain experience by flight instructing. 6.) Get a job flight instructing or some other job that will allow you to build flight time and experience. 7.) Apply for a job at a cargo or passenger airline. To get started go to your nearest airport and see if they have a flight school. Good luck! |

| I think to make a living flying any kind of aircraft you would have to get more than a "basic" liscence. I've heard one way to make money and rack up hours is to obtain an instructors liscence. That way people pay you to teach them, and to rent your plane to get their hours With a private liscence I don't think there is any legal way to make money |
