in 1974 i had 240 kgt sport datsun -nissan now-6 cylinders in line my max speed reached 225 kmph, wonderful engines then came the 240 Z another cool up to 300zx the v6 then is quiter and maybe faster but the 6 in line engines are more reliable ,stronger and i think getting the engine works better for a better cooling system the 6 inline under the hood provided exlnt area for cooling the engine block, alternator , radiator spark plugs, etc.toyota kept this 6 inline engines for the fj40 and later models for more than 35 years and now, they got nice 24valves in their engines.even early cheveys had the 6 in line engines that worked well remmeber imapala cheverolet and 6 in line cool camaros for tide budget guys .i think the 6 in line engines are easy to maintain strong reliable and cool.
